Post Obama Capitalism And The Death Of The One Night Stand (or the importance of wallpaper books)

Remember pre-Obama capitalism?

Greed.

Control.

Pretense.

We’ll it’s different now so you might as well get with the program.

There is only one real rule.

Treat your customer like you treat your lovers.

The real goal in all pre-O relationships was always the same.

How do I stay in control?

Sales people took (and unfortunately,  still take) classes to learn how to make you buy.

They read your body language,

put the milk and other staples in the back of the store,

fill places with the smell of baked bread

all in an effort (a pretense) of keeping control of the situation (and control of you!)

But that doesn’t work today.

We all may occasionally want our strings pulled

but being a puppeteer is a lonely game.

You end up really only playing with yourself.

Success, from now on, depends on treating your customer like more than a one-night stand.

In real relationships you don’t get happy by taking, you get happy by giving.

You’re not going to agree on everything, but there are plenty of samples in the wallpaper book.

Finding something to agree on is what lovers do.

There’s no pretense.

Only authenticity.

And honesty.

Dig this,

An amazing thing happens when you treat your customer like a lover.

You find there is only an occasional need for blindfolds and thigh high boots.
